T’was a Very Long Day
Yesterday I wrote about leaving on a jet plane for some upcoming travels but what I didn’t tell you was that I was doing some traveling yesterday as well. It was to Windsor for work so it wasn’t very relaxing. Interesting, but not relaxing. I can’t really talk about it because of confidentiality issues.
I dragged my a$$ out of bed at 4:15am so that I could be in a taxi at 5:00am so I could be at the airport to check in by 5:30am for my 6:00am flight. I know I just referenced a whole bunch of times there; I’m trying to hit home HOW FREAKIN’ EARLY I WAS UP.

It was also kinda chilly outside. I wasn’t incredibly happy but I dealt with it. I almost took a picture of how bleary-eyed I looked then decided not to subject you to that kinda of pain.
I packed some snacks for the day just in case I couldn’t get my hands on food I could eat. By the time I landed back in Ottawa tonight, all the snacks had been consumed so it was a good thing I packed them!

Bottle of water, larabar, banana, apple, almonds and dates in the container, another container with some rice crackers, and some peanut butter for the ‘nana.
I was in meetings all day and lunch was provided. When our hosts told us they were bringing in lunch, I knew instinctively it was sandwiches. Thankfully, there was a big veggie platter so I loaded up on carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and celery. I grabbed two sandwiches and scraped out the innards, tossing the buns aside. Wasn’t completely satisfying, but it was the best I could do.
On the way back to Ottawa I grabbed dinner with my manager at the Toronto airport. I had an amazing strawberry spinach salad with goat cheese, blackberries, walnuts, raspberry vinaigrette and grilled chicken. It was delectable. I wish I snapped a pic of it but I thought it would be a bit weird with my boss there though she is awesome. Partly because she let me finish off her sweet potato fries.
I’ve really been slacking on the workout front the past week due to the bachelorette, stress from work, and trying to get ready for my upcoming trip, so even though I was exhausted when I got back to my place (flight landed at 8:10pm, I was home by 8:40ish), I went out for a short walk. I also got in a decent walk today when we were given a tour of the facilities we were visiting.
My momma arrives in Ottawa this evening so I’m not sure if I’ll get a run in since I still have to pack, finish up some work stuff, go to MEC to buy some gear, eat, and sleep. It’s gonna be a crazy few days but soon I’ll be in PERU!!!!
Which reminds me that I need to go get some altitude sickness pills from the doctor. Off now to do that! Check ya later alligator!
