Embracing Fall

Fall colours are my colours. The reds, oranges, and yellows mixed in with the lingering greens set against a blue sky. I don’t go for the pinks, purples and pastel colours. They lack the vibrancy, the earthiness of the colours I find so appealing in the fall.

The only thing I don’t like about this season are the cooler temperatures. While bundling up in sweaters is cozy, the cold weather really gets to me because I’m already cold so much of the time. But, I don’t have any control over that so I suck it up and only complain about it sometimes.

That said, here are some snaps from my walk the other day. I snapped these on my iPhone using Camera+. It’s like instagram but more options for editing on your phone and you don’t have to publish them right away.

Even Lucy likes to get in on the fall action. She loves going out on the balcony where she chases down leaves and then carries them inside to play with them.  If only I could teach her to fetch. Sigh.

Breakfast with Cap’n Morgan

I had a whole long post written and then WordPress decided not to save it. WTF? Anywho, here’s my day so far.

Shot of rum before breakfast as a result of a moving truck fiasco.

Crossfit with a special going away present of slamballs: 100 in 4 minutes and if we didn’t make it to 100, the difference had to be made up in burpees. Argh.

Lucy being helpful. Lazy cat.

Oh, and I no longer have internet so am tethering my computer to my iPhone resulting in a super slow connection for blogging and probably why I lost all of my text. Blargh.

And Then I Roasted a Chicken

Welcome to day three of funemployment!

While I’m still in the midst of packing up my life (how did I accumulate so much stuff?) I’m finding other ways to fill my time.

Hanging out with friends….

I’m gonna miss them tremendously.

Watching football….

Hanging out with Lucy…

Crossfitting…

Fight Gone Bad was brutal but awesome. Give me a few months and when I do it again, I know I will increase my reps and be closer to doing it as RXd.

Today’s WOD was pretty tough too; air bike and thruster couplet. I didn’t hit my nose this time, thank goodness.

And roasting a chicken.

I kept this chicken simple and it was delicious:

  • Preheat oven to 450F.
  • Rinse chicken, pat dry.
  • Salt and pepper the whole chicken and cavity.
  • Roast for about 40 minutes or until it is cooked through. I recommend using a meat thermometer.
  • Eat and enjoy!

Today’s plans involve more packing, cleaning, getting some sushi and dinner with a friend before trivia. Only a couple of days left!
